9 Navy Top Gun Pilots rate Viper #1 in April \"Motor Trend\"

Pretty creative article...

Nine of the best Navy pilots at the Navy Fighter Weapons School, better known as Topgun which we know from the Tom Cruise movie , tested the Viper, C6 Vette, and the Mustang GT. The Viper outscored the competition in every category of testing except "Ice".

WHY would there be a question about driving a Viper on ICE??

Not sure why that even was a category, it should have been something like "Handling in Wet Conditions", but the the test took place in Nevada so maybe Ice was an issue.

I was pleased with the test but would have preferred to see a comparison against the only other two American production cars that can achieve 0-60 in under 4.0 seconds; and have 500 hp engines. The Ford GT ($170k, www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt) and the Saleen S7 ($400k, www.saleen.com). They could have gotten a hold of the new vette as well.

Good article, the viper did very well "11.77 vs 11.78 in the 1/4" .... with price tags of $84k - $153k...

On the comparison between the GT and the viper, it is very close as it should be. The same thing will happen when they do (an honest) comparison between the viper and the Z. Nothing to worry about.
