My 93 car is running warm under hard accelleration and heavy traffic. The car has not overheated. Temps under freeway and unspirited driving is generally 180-190. But under hard conditions the temps rise to 200-220. The car has always run cool until replacement of head gaskets and 180 degree thermostat last year at Roanoke. Since picking the car up, I've noticed the temperature fluctuate during driving. My concern is that under spirted driving, if I shut the car down immediately while running warm and immediately restart, the check engine light will come on for a few seconds until the motor temps decreases to 200 or so.
My next step is to have an air bleeder installed to remove air from the system and install an automated thermostat control so the stock fan will continue running when the engine is shut down.
Any feed back on the bleeder and thermostat control switch would be appreciated. Other ideas short of replacing the radiator/fan assembly?
