(not my auction, just passing along buyer-beware information)

If anyone here is looking at this car (he's had three offers on it so far), here's additional photos they sent me. As you can see, she looks like she has led a hard life...

I looked at one of these back in the Fall. It had 18k miles and and a hardtop. I believe it was that real nice Autoform top and the hard windows. I believe it was a 1995. The only thing that was obviously not right was the carpet on the lower part of the doors looked shabby... It sold right around $24k. I drove the car with the top off and it was a Hoot!
I'm not a fan of the tan interior though...

The price fits the condition just fine.. Did you really expect a
perfect car for 25k?

Sigh, I guess the saying is true, no good deed goes unpunished. I was simply posting the photos that weren't in the listing that the seller mailed to me privately in case anyone else was looking at it. In fact, I was looking for a car that needed a repaint so I could choose a custom color. But this one shows neglect IMO. Never mind the accident history, the filthy engine compartment, old tires, badly scraped fascia, etc.

ViperCollector, no offense. All I was saying was. Did you expect a mint 16 year old car for $25,000?

There is a market for every car... From a salvage wreck, to a museum piece. If the price fits, there is nothing wrong with that. There are many out there who will buy this, and fix it and detail it up, over time.

These cars have been around quite a few years now. A LARGE percentage of them (MORE THAN 50% of Gen1/2's) ARE pretty well beat.. But,I just took your comments as, someone should be expecting a MUCH nicer car for that money. And that just isn't true.. I just didn't see a need to bash the seller, and the Ebay ad., The price is consistent with the condition/miles.. yes,It needs some TLC.

Its the same mentality as these guys on here that see one beat up, off color, high mile GTS, sell on Ebay. Now claim every GTS's is worth this amount... its just NOT true.. thats all I was saying.. Quality Gen1/Gen2's are still bringing a premium. I'm sure no one on here agrees with that, but they are....

Sorry, if you took offense.

Pardon my ignornace, but what is that thing mounted on the rear deck lid? Did someone make a "sprayer" for the rear window? Seems like a neat idea but I'd never seen that done before.

I agree that the car is in decent shape for the price. I mean c'mon...this thing is cheaper than most new Acuras. It does look like the hood may have scratches or swirl marks though. Still not the end of the world.

Oh...and my vote is FOR the tan interior. Looks classier than gray I think, especially with the green exterior.

Taxi - My bad for reading more into it than you meant.

I'm not passing judgment on the price/etc., but if you look at the photos he posted in his ad, they do not reflect the actual condition of the car - hence my post with additional photos. Any buyer 'should' do their own due diligence and ask for more photos and accident information (like I did), but I thought I'd save any fellow VCA members a step. If it were a couple K cheaper, I'd probably consider it myself, send it to Roanoke/Woodhouse to sort it out, then out to paint for the wife!

(Illinois VCA is having a woman's driving day event, and I'm just preparing for the inevitable result....a second viper!)

Darn. I thought it was a washer for the rear window. When the window's out it could act as the "Dodge Viper Executive Quick Shampoo System" for those days when you're REALLY in a hurry to get to the office in the morning and don't have time for a shower at home!
