The Viper's 6-speed is a T-56 made by Tremec. although this tranny is similar to the T-56 offered in other cars, MANY components in the Viper's Tranny are different per DaimlerChrysler specifications to make it capable of handling all the HP and Torque the Viper's V-10 generates. Borg Warner sold all it's manual transmission manufacturing tooling/tranny rights to Tremec several years ago so they could concentrate on Automatic Transmissions (which were like 95% of their market anyway). Tremec specializes in manual boxes, so in the long run this will be great for Viper owners.
