In regards to aluminum flywheels on Gen 1 cars:

Wouldn't this greatly improve 1/4 mile times since they have so much torque, thus, not as much wheel spin off start and harder pull at the end of the RPM's?-as compared to Gen 2 cars.

I have a 97 GTS when my tranny was acting up (3rd gear) and was replaced by the Great Dan Craigen.I also replaced the flywheel and the same time just because it was almost free. I saw a nice gain and could tell by the seat of my shorts (I live in So Ca ).But it would be lot of money just to drop the trans to replace the flywheel all by it self.
