Will be going to an auto-x event. Course is about 1.5 miles long. Takes about 1min 30 sec. to complete. I have two sets of tires. The stock pilot sport cups, and and a new set of PS-2s. which tire do you think would perform better without time to warm them up? I previously had a set of Pilot sport cups 8 years ago that i tried on a short 1/2 course and they were horrible, worse than pilot sports cold on a short course. Are the new PS cups better now? I am not interested in buying a third set or tires, so I just wanted to use the ones I have until I replace the Cups for track use, not just for auto-x. :drive:

Is there anywhere nearby to drive the car for a bit before your run, just get them a little warmer than just sitting for an hour while you wait for your runs? I used to autox the GTS a lot, I would run up and down a nearby street real quick, then get in line to run.... I was running the a Kumo autox/street tire which seems similar to the cups on my ACR...

There is no place near to warm up the tires. The event is held at an old airbase runway. There speed limit on the grounds is strictly inforced, less than 20mph. No chanch to warm them up and get in line. Must start out cold. So my big delemma is which tire would perform best. :dunno:

New PS2's would likely work better IMHO.

Wow...1.5 miles, thats longer than some road courses.

On the 4th run of a 50 second course, my PS2's pick up a lot of gravel....reminded me of autocross tires from 15 years ago. I'd think on a longer course like this you'd be fine with the PS2's.

Have fun,
George
