I just read a post about some one's alarm not going off when the hood opens and it got me wondering about mine. I plan to check it when I get home but I do know that the alarm does not go off when I open the rear hatch on my '01 GTS. Should it?

Yes, there is a switch at the base of the drivers side strut that should trigger the alarm as soon as the hatch is opened.

Well I just realized my alarm isn't getting armed. The doors lock but the red light doesn't flash. I didn't see a fuse listed in the manual. What else can I check rather easily?

Check to make sure the hood switch and hatch switch are connected. Also, make certain the the hatch switch is making contact with the strut body when the glass is down.
(I had new struts put on mine before I picked it up and they had not adjusted this correctly, therefore the sys could not be armed) There are a couple of T-10 (or T-15) screws to adj the switch body in relation to the strut body.
