Annoying Idle Problem....Solution?

My 98 GTS, upon coming to a stop at a stop sign or red light, will sometimes almost stall. The RPMs will fall so low-that at night the headlights almost go out. At other times, upon coming to a stop, the idle will stick around 1500 RPMs. I then have to tap the gas pedal and the idle will fall back down to 500 RPMs.

The car doesn't always do this-sometimes it'll idle perfectly...

Yesterday the Service Engine Soon light came on, so I dropped it off at the Dodge Dealership this morning. I told them about the idle problem.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems-so I can suggest a solution to my Viper tech?

Thanks,
Tim

Mileage on Viper?

I suspect a simple ISM / IAC issue, which will be revealed by the code lite. OR: 0-2 sensors are giving up. usueally Mileage dependant Distant 3rd....plug wires cross-talking, breaking down. Mileage dependent

Jon,

The Viper has 15000+ miles on it. I was told by another Viper owner that had the same problem to replace the battery. I will let you guys know the result.
