I pondered this whole concept the first time I installed. Has anyone left the top portion of the stock airbox off after installing the K&N system. Here is a pic of a car I saw on EBAY with this done. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Viper-RSI-SR700-03-SRT10-V10-6-SPEED-SILVER-CONVERTIBLE-LEATHER-AZ_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6209QQitemZ4565644034QQrdZ1#lg

With all the hype lately about drilling bigger holes....and disappointing installs, I was wondering if there was a difference. I supposidly have the "new" design.......and on occasion......have notice a loss of power under heavy acceleration. Would it make a difference if removed????

Thanks Guys,

Chad

I have mine off and if you ask me if there’s a difference in the way the car feels, I say no. Dyno could reveal a difference but who knows.

The thing I wonder about with that car in the pics are those stainless tubes. They sure look cool but it seems like the only thing they would be good at is to create a really hot environment for the air to pass thru prior to entering the motor.
