Another \"what\'s it worth\" - advice please

I've found a 2000 Viper GTS locally that's in awesome shape - runs strong, no flaws in the body except for minor scrapes underneath the chin spoiler, clean interior, etc. I want to get a feel for what you experts on this board think it would be worth. The details:

2000 Viper GTS, 13000 miles, one owner, black with silver stripes and black interior, K&N smooth tubes, and an aftermarket Mopar CD changer in the trunk.

Opinions please????

Re: Another

I would say the range for that car is between 52k-57k. I think anywhere in that range would be a good deal. I am sure people will say 50k but I believe that is an exception and not the rule.

Re: Another

52 to 56K depending on overall condition. Be sure to have someone who knows Vipers look it over. You will be impressed with what a trained Viper eye can see.

Good luck.

Re: Another

I would say 49-53k, it is still a buyers market, take advantage of it... that is the best color combo ever. Everyone that sees my snake all cleaned up says the same.

Ok…$3

Can you tell us what the asking price is? Maybe I am way off with my estimates. Everyone always posts after me with a sub 50k price. Where can you get a 2000 non-red GTS for 48k, especially one that was seen and is in great shape?

The asking price is right around $58k. It looks like we've agreed on $56k and I happen to know that they bought it at auction for $54.8k.

That's right on! (come on guys, I've already bought mine. Let's get this market going up!) Honestly, that is a 50ish car. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

Thanks for the info! What I really need to do now is get a deal wrapped up on my '69 Charger R/T SE then I can get the Viper (man do I have the itch to get one bad!).

Reason I say that much is I saw a 99 ACR with 4K miles go for 52K... Don't see why a 2000 GTS with 10K miles would be worth much more.

Re: Another

Just picked up a 2000 GTS (black) with less 6900 miles on it for a good friend one week ago. The car was in like new condition owned by a real finatic! He was asking $52k.....but accepted $50K. I feel this was an exceptional deal considering the condition and low miles. It also had a 7/70,000 transferable warranty. Either way, if it is what you are looking for and YOU feel the price is fair, buy it and enjoy it! Hope this helps! :usa:

Re: Another

The warranty indicates that it has to be transferred within 60 days from date of purchase and I believe there is a $50 fee for the transfer.

Re: Another

Check the in-service date of the car. If it was put in service less than 36 months ago, and since it has less than 36K miles, you can buy a new car warranty in your name. If that's possible (based on the in-service date), when you sell the car you'll be able to transfer the warranty to your buyer. Even if the car already has an extended warranty (and it's <36 months/36K miles), you're better off having the seller cash in his warranty and you buy your own.

YES! I agree. Now that I own another Viper I am hoping for a bull market. How about a little irrational exuberance ... I think that is how it is spelled :D

Re: Another

How do all these "wholesalers" and hole in the wall specialty car dealers in Texas and Florida get all these Vipers that CF shows were sold at auction 2-3 owners etc? Looks like some of the former brethern must have taken a bath and bailed out of the car for what ever reason I guess, botching up Viper prices. Just my .02

I hope you are not talking about an EBAY car. "Seeing them go" on EBAY is a completely different story. EBAY sells for less because there is uncertainty in the buying. When I give estimates of price I give what I think is a good price, not 4k lower than an amazing deal. No one ever comes on this board and says "look at me, I paid 63k for a 2000 GTS 1 month ago". Only people who got great or even good deals will speak up. No one wants to publicly say they paid too much. I am sure for everyone that posts they bought a 50k 2000 GTS there are 10 people that paid >55k.

Exactly!

With Vipers...you get what you pay for 99.9% of the time.

That's what I thought. It seems to me that there's some value in being able to see the car personally before plunking down the money. I like the idea of buying locally because I don't have to pay for shipping or put a ton of miles on right off the bat. I just want to make sure that this price seems reasonable.
