any 96 RT/10 using an sct scanner? (the only gen 1 with obd 2)

i have a 96 rt/10 with the gen 1 engine and the 96 model is obd 2. i was wondering if any fellow gen 1 1/2 bretheren have tried the SCT programmer and what kind of results the have had? thanks, todd:eater:

If it is OBDII, it should not matter. You are only trying to optimize the a/f and timing, therefore, same principals apply for a Gen 1 or Gen 2. You will not be sorry if you purchase the SCT package. You can also:

1. Increase idle.
2. Bring on the high speed fan earlier - keeps the eng temp down.
3. Remap the load versus rpm fuel table - this is to optimize mods.
4. Increase rev-limiter.
5. Remove shift lock-out.

that is only a few improvement, but, basically it makes our cars run better. Do a search, Dan from Viper Specialties is a good source.

thanks for the info. i was just curious how much hp/tq people picked up with the gen 1 and if it is any more or less than a gen 2 picks up.

In general, most GenI's have a wider range of true rwhp than do the Gen 2's - that is good, more potential
