I have used 3.33's for several years and they were fine with the nitrous at the strip. I pulled off the nitrous last year and ran the car NA. I also run some long autox courses and first gear was too short, but, second gear lacked the power. I am going to pull the 3.33's and change to either 3.55's or 3.73's.

I think the 3.73's and second gear would be perfect for a long autox course. The drag strip is the problem, I am getting close to 130 in the quarter, if I go with the 3.73's, that is close to the limiter with 3.73's. Has anyone used 3.73's with a 26" tire and what is your experience or would the 3.55's be a better choice?

I'm in the process of switching from 4.10 to 3.7. I think you be up against the rev limiter before you get 130. I'm planning on going about 125 in a quarter With about 500 Rear wheel horsepower.

All I can do is give you my experience at the drag strip with my lightly modified 2000 creampuff with 3.55 gears and a light weight fly wheel. Putting down a dynoed 434 RWHP and 474 RWTQ on PS tires I turned a best 12.04 @ 120.4 mph with a 1.84 60' time. I had to throw 4th gear, hit the rev limiter in 3rd.

I'm at redline (not the limiter) going through the traps at 129 in 4th. I'm switching to a 27" tire. I've got 3:55 gears

I have a set of 3:55 (in the housing) that I been thinking of letting go, if you decide you want to go that route.. Toying to going back to the stock gear when I get my motor back.

Do you need a stock rear.
