Help, just purchased beautiful 94 and I am dead in the water !!! Battery went dead and alarm system came on. Tried to jump, had enough power but acted like power was shut off to fuel injectors. Tried using FOB to shut off system, looked like it did, but still won't start. Replaced battery, system came back up ok, tested alarms, :( all work as should, turned them off with FOB, but still no starting. Other techs tell me I need to ground out the alarm system to unscramble it. How exactly do I do that and do I need to reprogram the FOBs as well ? Any other ideas anybody ? Read some things about VTA modules and possibly a dead PCM ( engine brain ) Sounds expensive. Rescue me please !!!

If I remember correctly you need to ground the green wire comine from the alarm module (below steering column). Not sure of the procedure but it was something like holding both buttons down at the same time the module wire was grounded.

The alarm system has its own pcm. If that's gone bad, you will need another one. To reprogram the fob press and hold both buttons until horn sounds. Usally when you reconnect the battery the lights flash, press and hold both buttons on the key fob , horn sounds, press alarm off, start car. If that doesn't work you have another problem.

He has a Gen I. I know my Gen I required grounding the green wire to reprogram the fobs. Gen II and later have different alarm modules. The reprogram steps are in the owners manual.
