Thinking about autocrossing my Viper. But have a couple of questions:

1. It is my understanding that Vipers are not the best vehicle for autocross. Will I have a chance to be competitive?

2. What class is my Viper in? What cars will I be running against?

3. How ******* your car is Autocross?

depends on the course.... some autocrosses are pretty tight, with tight slaloms and u-turns..... the large turning radius of the viper doesn't help.. if the course is more open, you'll do better...

stock viper's are in super stock... with the vettes and others...

make sure you have some good tires.... take out the sport shims up front to adjust the camber up front...

don't be surprised when Miata's, S2000's, Evo/STi's and other small cars give you a good beating the first few times out... :)

What kind of tire pressures do you run? What is a good starting point for stock Pilots? I use shoe polish to adjust but did not want to waste laps getting close.

Without stickier tires it's a loosing proposition.

Recommended tires: Kumho 710's. Very similar to the Hoosier autocross tire but cheaper.

I thought the 710's didn't come in the proper 18" sizes (no 335). Are you running 17's?
