So I have a set of EBC Greens that I want to paint black. The paint I have is a high temp paint that says to bake what you painted at 400 degrees for 90 minutes for maximum strength.

What I want to know is, can I put my brake pads in the oven like that? Especially the rears with the backing pad that it has on it.

Thanks!

Yeah, I did my rotors last night. The wife just loves when I cook!

The more I think about it....Don't the pads "see" more than 400 degrees under normal use anyway?

I am not sure why you would need to bake them. They are not going to see any wear against the visible painted surface. And I don't think you care what happens to the interface to the piston.

You will be "bedding" them in anyway which may just create some of the heat although not for 90 min.

Let us know what you did.

I painted mine with high temp black paint. No need to bake them. Of course, I hear they go well with liver and onions.
