Ballistic Blanket?

Anyone know of a ballistic blanket that will fit the Viper bell housing?

I checked out the RCI blanket that Summit Racing sells. Talked with RCI and they told me that it would not fit the Viper bellhousing.

I found one that is custom patterned to fit the Viper bell housing. It's made by Stroud Safety and costs $350.

zorro, they are required by NHRA and other racing associations for highly modified cars. Also, they make good sense on 700+ hp cars because if a clutch blows at high RPMs, it will cut through the bellhousing, the tranny tunnel and you. Just cheap insurance.

Zorro told me how great a race car driver and builder he was. I can not believe that he would ask "Why on earth would YOU need that" as a race car driver who should be interested in his own safty on the track. I do believe Kenny that there are people who are getting tired of you, Zorro, and Rogue's comments about me, so save it bud as I doi not want to hear it anymore and other's do not ether.

Robbie I have no idea who Zorro is or what he has claimed or not. There are people who can easily spend quite a bit around fast street cars and not know what a ballistic blanket is.

Futhermore, I don't know why you would post a link to this thread. It says nothing about me other than I try to provide information in a helpful manner and that I have an extremely low tolerance for ignorant, self proclaimed experts who are only interested in self promotion and turning a buck.

My guess based upon the rather limited knowledge you have shown on this board is you had no knowledge of the use or purpose of a ballistic blanket prior to reading this thread and simply decided to use this opportunity to slam zorro.

Although it happened a long time ago, Take a look at Don Garlits foot or the part thats missing actually. He is walking proof that scattershields or ballistic blankets are needed on hi-h.p. applications. Cheap insurance to say the least.

I have met Don and been to his house. When his mother was alive my 90 year old dad spent some time with her. Both are a class act. . He was very intrumental in bring safty equipment into racing.

Of course, asking him if he had such a high hp engine, and if he did a lot of racing on slicks.

Many people here get mods that they do not need, I was just asking for clarification in case I could help.
I now took my time to read KAI's profile and I see that he is a ******** racer.

I do know what a tranny blanket is, robbie... but good try taking a shot at me ;-)
