We had our monthly Viper meeting tonight and decided to make it a little different. Thus was born Viper Baseball Night!

In conjunction with our own Kansas City T-Bones baseball team (Northern League professional team) we had 21 Vipers arrive at the stadium. We got two luxury suites, $1.00 hotdogs, and plenty of suds. We even had a couple of our members in the Beer Race in the sixth inning (race from one foul line to the other in the outfield carrying full pitchers of beer). Vipers win again! ;)

Our next big event is the Whiteman Air Force Base Air Show on June 19th, followed by the V10 Nationals event in Topeka on July 10-11. Be sure to get registered today!

I personally wouldn't have thought of Kansas as being a place where vipers are a very common site. Amoung the 21 cars that showed up, are most of them "local" guys or did most travel some distance to get there ? I'm just curious because I live in the "heart" of car country, (Ohio) but there must not be very many vipers at all. Our region has nothing planned that is close to where I live (the Canton area where the pro football HOF is) for the entire year. So it's with an admiring eye that I browse thru your pictures. I would LOVE to participate in the Whiteman event you have coming up, but alas I'm states away. HAVE FUN GANG and keep posting pics ! ! !

Actually, drawing from the greater Kansas City area gives us a decent base of Viper owners. Our membership is the highest it has ever been and is growing rapidly. For this event, we had folks come in from as far as 70 miles away. Our Ozarks cruise with the Gateway Club (and for which we greatly appreciated the invite) brought in folks from the southern part of our region. For our Dyno Day we pulled from 120 miles out. The Whiteman Air Force Base event (where you too can pose your car by a Stealth Bomber, F-16, etc.) will draw from around 200 miles out. The V10 Nationals event in Topeka (which we are hosting) will bring in folks from 500+ miles.

The key is to offer a diversity of events throughout the greater part of your region. We have events all over the place so that all our members get the opportunity to get to at least one. We make sure there is something for everybody, whether it be a casual dinner cruise for your "windbreaker" crowd or hard-core racing for the gearheads. We believe that the VCA should be able to offer everybody in the membership something THEY would like and try to bring it as close to their home as possible. Now we have to figure out a good event in the Wichita area and I think we will have it covered...

Always happy to post pictures!

Chris, I hear nothing but great things about your KC Region. It shows that a good president can really make a region lots of fun (the same w/ our Gateway Region).

It was nice to meet you briefly at the Lake of the Ozarks (I was on the Viper boat and you were, of course, snapping pics). Our regions need to meet up more often!

SJT97GTS, What you are hearing is correct about Chris and the VCA of Kansas City.

I'm a member of the Chapter that Y2K3SRT is the president of, and I wasn't able to make the Viper Baseball night, bummer!

I was at dance lessons with my 11 year daughter, Ashley, A.K.A. the Missouri Level 5 Gymnastics State Champion for 2003/2004 season. (Proud Daddy, you bet! she's one of 4 daughters) I am performing with her in a recitle (SP?), otherwise I would have been there!

The event was NOT at our our Major League Ballpark, it was at the home of The Kansas City T-Bones. (Semi-Pro???? I'm not sure) Which by the way is just about 15 miles away from the home of the 1985 World Series Champs, The Kansas City Royals. (Yes, we here have to live in the past with our MBL B-Ball team, we don't want to talk about this year, or last, or the one before that, and so on!)

I heard the event was a blast! Kansas City is a great Viper town. I would guess we have about 40 to 50 or so Vipers in KC, not all are members....YET. Chris chime in, I'm sure you know that stat much better than I.

Our events are typically all well attended. As Chris, said, we even pull Vipers from 60 to 70 miles away, which typically is a 797 RWHP DLM Stage 3 1995 RT-10 from Topeka KS.

I have to say, Chris A.K.A Y2K3SRT, is the heart and soul of our club here in Kansas City. He makes every event fun, he always finds something for everybody, no one gets left out, or behind, you always feel like Chris is your best friend.

Chris has great support in the Officers that serve with him and there is without question a GREAT group of members, but if anyone on this board has read some of Chris' laugh out loud posts, you would know he makes each event fun and worth coming back for the next one!

(Ok Chris, where is my left over hotdog from the ball game you promised me for saying all this stuff?)

Naw....just kidding on the hotdog! You do a great job, and I for one appreicate all the time, work and effort you and your sweetie put into making the VCA of KC one great group to hang out with!
