No doubt it will be on Speed Channel here in the States some time in mid 2006.

its not online as I know as yet, the UK TV broadcast companies have been cracking down on people ripping the footage and hosting on the web, so alot of the good vid sites over here have disappeared

That must explain the demise of Sleepy Fish.

Here you go! "Absolute garbage. Buy the vette." They found the brakes on the Viper to be just rubbish. ???

Looks like a lot of cool downloads. Unfortunately, I can't decode any of the avi's. I keep getting an unknown codec error.

From what I read, something happened loading the video. They will try to have it reloaded later.

Works great for me. But yes, you'll need the xvid plugin or you can download and use mplayer or VLC instead of WMP.

Thanks for putting the link up fluffy, I downloaded it as well. What's wild is I had no problem downloading/watching in from you link, but had no dice on that other web site.

Also what did they mean they can't use the viper name????

The name 'Viper' was registered to a small UK kit car company about 25 years ago way before the gen1 was ever dreamed up, they only sold a few kit cars.

The story is Chrysler instead of offering a bucket of money took them to court and tried to take the name but failed miserably...so then the owner of the name decided to clamp down on Chrysler totally banning the use of 'Viper' in the UK.

The vehicle is known as the DODGE SRT/10 all the official UK cars everything refering to 'Viper' has been removed off the cars, advertising, promotion stuff etc to the extend that when a Compe coupe was brought over and shown by Dodge at a sports car show they had to cover up Viper on the calipers and have specially printed leaflets. The Viper has died here.... :(

It also means that Chrysler can now have no involvement with our region
UK ViperClub.....(not that they did before)

It must of been cheaper for the small amount of cars they will sell, they only had 15 SRT's last summer to sell which I believe they still havent shifted all of them.

They are over priced here at Dealerships, anyone in there right mind would import there own from the US and save a fortune. There are loads of import companies who have stock selling $15K cheaper than Chrysler, even they are struggling to shift them, the demand is very low.

A new DODGE SRT costs UK £78K from a dealership, yet only $75K plus delivery and tax. The gen2 1997 Viper was the same price...

78,000.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 148,863.48 USD United States Dollars = 187,500.99 CAD Canada Dollars

Here I was thinking I paid too much when I paid $143,200 CAD Canada Dollars = 113,691.40 USD United States Dollars = 59,570.884 GBP United Kingdom Pounds

The funny thing is I have seen 2 brand new 04 SRT-10's for $85000 CDN.

85000 CDN = 67,484.42 USD = 35,359.81 GBP

The only ones most take off including me are the Chrysler (euro spec) rear bumper badge and replace it with DODGE, by choice, not because we have to.
I mean apart from the French and a few Germans who has ever heard of a Chrysler Viper :D

Wouldnt see whats stopping you buying on your own emblems and sticking them back on after you brought a SRT... so its a bit pointless really

I watched the show.

(after a bit of downloading, installing and tweaking was able to get the bittorrent thing to work.)

I can't say that I was impressed by 5th gear's take on the car. Jeremy Clarkson did a more balanced (and entertaining) segment on the Viper on Top Gear.

It's funny that neither one of them said anything at all positive about the Viper. You'd have thought they were testing a Yugo.

I think that part of the problem is the fact that the Viper is $150,000 over there. At that price point, I would have less patience for some of the Viper's shortcomings too. At any price, however, the Viper is a lot of fun to drive. I would have thought that a car guy like Tiff would have recognized that. There is a lot to appreciate about the Viper in spite of its "flaws." They seemed to be too busy looking for problems to even have fun with the car (although the guy was smiling each time when he was burying the Vette in the drag race.)

Whatever.
