I changed the plug wires on my car to 10.5mm magnecores. There isnt a misfire and it seems to be running noticeably stronger. Maybe the old wires were fried? Anyways, after a day and a half of having the wires, I turned the car on yesterday and the check engine light came on. Maybe its something else, but it seems mighty coicidental that its been fine for months on end and the check enginelight came on 2 days after I cahnged my plug wires. Any reason for this? Any suggestions?

Sometimes this happens as a result of touching and moving lots of wiring and connections as a result of a repair. You may want to try to go through the engine area and make sure all your connections are tight and solid. Sometimes just jarring a connection will loosen it enough to cause an open circuit and trip your light. Other than that...your guess is as good as mine when it comes to diagnosing such problems over the internet.

Good Luck!
