Changing 17\" wheels to 18\" wheels

I was wondering, if I change from a 17" wheel with 335/35 tires to an 18" wheel with 335/30 tires, will it affect the speedometer? From my understanding of how a tire is measured, I am thinking that the 18" tire would be taller than the 17" tire. I know that the aspect ratio of the tire is less on the 18", but it seems like it doesn't make up the difference of the wheels. Anyone out there have experience with this? I appreciate the help!
