From what I've heard over the past few years, that's very rare... plenty of people who've done track time and have many more miles than that, and still have a strong clutch...
I believe my first clutch was replaced at around 18k miles on my 1998 - since the new factory clutch I've run the car hard for another 30K miles without any problem. Just to be safe, however, I'm taking it in on Saturday for some upgrades, including a kevlar clutch and lightweight flywheel.
Andy,
No more Super Stock for you!
You've been gone for a while, Are you coming down for Viper Days?
25k and my clutch is fine. But you never know tell they go! Driving habits make the difference. A smooth RPM match to avoid slipping even under heave use
makes the difference.
i have 15k on 01 and the dealer said i need to replace the clutch. thats what was cuasing the wheels to hop on take off and the shifter to bounce around like crazy...i cant beleive it. takin it to chucks this weekend. BTW when is the Viper days event and whefre is it? anyone from NY,CT NJ area going?
