Clutch slipping...

[2001 GTS]

Had a Centerforce dual friction clutch put in less than a year ago, with about 4K miles on it now.

Went to the track yesterday, ran about 6 times. Did 11.0 back to back to back, tried to get into the 10s, but it was too hot/humid I guess.

Then on the way home, clutch pedal is almost fully released by the time it grabs. Not to mention the 5th and 6th gear free revs.

So a clutch that was perfect is now crap after one day???

My clutch did about the same as your's. Made four run's and all was well,on the fifth pass I shifted into fourth and the rpm's went up and the car was slowing down. I just put in a new clutch,slave and needed to replace my flywheel also.

mine had about 43K on it but after one GOOD day of highway pulls with dimitrios, it went.

my clutch went at 11000 miles but it was because of a blown reat main seal leak...oil was leaking onto clutch/flywheel assembly.
