Dad got 31k MILES ON FRONT TIRES !!

Anyone else ever pulled milage that high on a set of ORIGINAL Tires ?

I bought dad his viper back in oct. 05 and he put 31k miles on it, and I had to force him to replace the fronts. He was saying he could have gotten probably another 5k outta them. lol.

I told him when i gave him the car, either he drives the **** out of it, or I will take it back. Definitely doesnt look like I'll ever have to worry about taking it back ;-)

He wasnt doing it to be frugal, he just felt they were fine. He says they were just now getting to the wear markers.

I just couldnt believe it, but I bought the car new, and I take care of the tires on it, so i know for a fact he has never had any other tires on it up front then those original ones. (we replaced the rears at 20k miles).

I got 32,880 out of the first set and have 31,120 on the current set. 4/32s left. 2/32s above the wear bars. The OEM Pilot Sports wear quite well on the front. That includes at least 1 track event per year and several autocrosses. The back tires only last about 10-12 thousand miles if they are being properly serviced My first set of rears went 16,700 miles.
