Darn rectangular trim bezel around interior door handle . . .

on 98 GTS. Cannot get the driver's side to stay on. The connecting system is really dumb (not even sure how the passenger side is staying on). Any suggestions? Previously on my car the stereo install hacks super-glued it in. I don't want to do that.

IF THE TABS ARE NOT BUSTICATED, LOOK CLOSELY AT THE HANDLE ON THE DOOR, YOU WILL NOTICE CUT OUTS FOR THE TABS TO FIT INTO. STARTING AT THE REAR OF THE HANDLE OPENING, PUSH THE BEZEL INTO THE PANEL AND SLIDE FORWARD UNTIL IT "SNAPS" INTO PLACE. IF IT DOES NOT SNAP INTO PLACE, THE SMALL LOCKING TAB AT THE REAR OF THE BEZEL MAY BE BROKEN OR WORN OUT. IN THIS CASE YOU JUST HAVE TO REPLACE THE BEZEL FOR A MERE $50.00, THANKS TO THE VIPER TAX ON ALL MOPAR PARTS.

Those suckers ain't cheap. Cost me a fortune when I snapped those tabs off. Yep, the good ol' VIPER TAX at work here.

Bezel is brand new and door side looks just like passenger and it "snaps" in but no sticky. Problem seems to be no real locking mechanism (the tabs on the bezel have no hooks at all, just a slot). I might go with a removable silicone glue. That might keep it in place, but allow it to be removed if the door panel has to come out. Passenger side it doing fine. P.S. Stop yelling.

I used some double sided tape to help adhere my replacement aluminum bezels which has held up very nicely.

Good idea on the tape, but I tried it and - no stickee.

Some of my tabs are broken off and are covered with old glue residue. Looks like a recurring problem with many of our snakes.

One trick I used was to look behind the bezel, find the screw that holds on the handle assembly. Drill a hole in the bezel directly in line with where the screw hole is located and use the screw to hold the bezel in place. $50 for a piece of plastic is criminal .
