Do \"Special Editions\" now outnumber regular Vipers???

Got the notice on the Vegas VOI and had to laugh--Dodge is building a special edition Viper just for the event. Wow!!It is clear that "special edition" Vipers will be built at the drop of a hat. How many have there been? I have lost count. Hell, I own one. It gets a little silly after awhile. But, the good thing is Dodge still keeps all Vipers at low production numbers and gives us something exclusive to drive.

Great excuse for changing the paint job; I was torn between the silver mamba and the commemorative.

Re: Do

It did say there was going to be an aftermarket Mopar performance pkg specifically for that edition. Definitley sparks my curiosity what they will be.

Re: Do

Have you seen the other posts of ALL the color combinations coming out. Somebody can now "create" their own special edition package with all the color combo options available.

84 (28 colors and 3 sets of wheels). Bring on the Mopar Stages and you'll have 252 options to choose from...

Re: Do

At first I thought all these special editions were just a cheesy excuse to make people think these were especially collectable.

Now I just think it is a cool way to give people variety so they can get a car in perhaps a color scheme that really appeals to them.

It makes it more interesting to see these variations at club meets rather than just red, black, and yellow cars.

I was always a fan of GTS Blue and my favorite vette was Nassau Blue. So when I saw that the coupe was available in that color it pushed me over the edge and purchase one.

Having a Viper is great, but having it your favorite color is even better. I vote to keep the special editions coming!

Re: Do

All Vipers are special editions!

These cars are fantastic. Look at the pride of ownership, before there were 'special editions' folks routinely note that their car is "1" of "nnn". The '96 blue/white 'special edition' was so popular they blew out the '97 model year making more. If Dodge didn't put the label 'special edition' on the cars and just made a limited run they would be just as special. I think having a badge on your dash the notes the limited run nature of your car is pretty cool. The cars in my avatar are both special editions, one is 10/150 the other 32/50.
