Does anybody know what Viper models and colors coming for 02\' ?

Hello;

I posted previously but did not get any answers to my surprise!

I thought that halfway (almost) through 2001 that there would be some info on what could be ordered of the last year of the Gen II style Viper. Will there be something special offered to say goodbye? It seems like the final year would offer some special goodies; either in performance or paint scheme.

It seems that if I wanted an 02' that the time would be NOW to order the car. I am currently the owner of my second Viper, an 01 RT, and I really enjoy it.

I haven't heard anything. I have heard about alot of 03' sightings which makes me wonder if the 02' may actually be the
"03" someone must know, but they aren't saying yet.

I've heard there will be vinyl tops with portals for the GTSs and two tone waterfall (---Dodge truck) paint jobs. Won't that be nice.

Like 2charmed, I would not be surprised if the "03" Vipers showed up in early calendar year '02 (in time for the Detroit Auto Show?)....there HAVE been a lot of sightings, and the '03 development seems to be moving along at a very rapid pace. Yes, the most frequent official response for the arrival seems to be August 2002, but who knows?

If the first '03s turn out to be ready in March or so, that would leave maybe two months to build '02s.

Fun to speculate...

Dealers I spoke with mentioned yellow, red, and a new grey for '02. Only one year for the sapphire ('01) and one year for steel grey('00).

Think about guys.....

Only RT/10's in '03.... right? And they're going to need extra time to get put them together. So if they cut the production year in half for they '02 year and only build GTS's, that would give them the same amount of GTS as if they were building both RT/10's and GTS's in a full year. The dealers will have something to sell until the '03 RT/10's come out and it would also help fill the void of no GTS's for awhile.

I'm only guessing, so don't flame me if I'm wrong. It just seems like the obvious decision.

The "something special" car will once again be our next raffle car!!!! VERY VERY UNBELIEVABLY UNIQUE SNAKE!!!! YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE IT!!!! THIS WILL BE ANOTHER IN A SERIES OF ONE OFF VIPERS!

Dear Joseph;

I can't take the anticipation of the mystery snake you are alluding to! What is it, how many, and how do I get one? The timing is important because in just purchased a new 01' and I really like it more than my 98'. I have an 03' on order.

I have skin cancer, so the easy to operate top of the 03' looks like a Godsend. Perhaps a coupe would be better, but they won't be available for awhile

Please tell me what this Viper is all about; colors, mods, availability, etc, ASAP. Maybe I should wait on the 03' based on your post. Will this be a real "Factory" limited Viper, or an aftermarket job? It is so frustrating to find out after they are all sold like the GT-2's.
