does anyone know if one can safely drill holes in the back panel of the RT10's trunk (in the fuel tank closeout panel) without damaging the gas tank which is behind it? Want to mount amp against it...

Hey,
After doing the 998 recalls and pulling a couple of the panels I would say there is about an inch at the center of the tub. At the edges there is a little more than the center. I wouldn't use any long screws without pulling the panel. It ***** to get the panel off. If you take it off, I drill holes and mount 1/4 x 20 well plugs and remount the panel with bolts instead of rivets. Hope that helps.
Later,
Joe

That's exactly what I was thinking when I installed my amps. I was too afraid to start drilling towards the gas tank.
