I drove a 2004 supercharged SRT-10 for the first time last night and all that I can say is WOW!! As some of you know, I am not a big fan of the styling of the Gen3 Vipers but this car more than makes up for it in the handling and the braking. I was impressed, actually I was very impressed! Of course the 705rwhp was incredible and also had 3.73 rear end gears so it really launched.
I never doubted the handling, the braking or the creature comforts of the car but driving one has totally got me hooked. The car really does drive as advertised. Now don't get me wrong, I won't be going out and buying one any time soon, but man, this car is impressive. :2tu:

I've never seen one or sat in one or anything at all, but just from the looks and reviews it does seem like this car doesn't disappoint in the areas you mentioned. It only lacks in looks and style.

The SRT-10 "lacks in looks and style"??? If you've never seen one, I guess your opinion is based on photos. :D

I don't think you're too far from me, I'll gladly take you for a spin in mine and see if that changes your mind! :headbang:

As stated on the Gen 3 board, the SRT doesnt photograph very well at all. I agree, in pictures, it does not show a lot of looks, style or character. However, in real life, they are beautiful. I drove beside one on interstate at a recent Viper event and man, those things are awesome. I have never drove one so I cant comment on any of that, but the looks and style certainly are improved when you get to see one up close.

Believe me guys, I have not "turned". As I stated, I will not be running out to buy one but was just pointing out the fact that it is an incredibly agile car. My 94 is no slouch(sp?) in the handling dept. either but the SRT is definately an improvement. I had 2 issues with the car though:
1) I thought my 94 gave off a lot of heat in the leg area. This thing is worse! It put out a ton of heat. The owner said that it is indeed pretty bad.
2) The windshield rear view mirror is worthless. I could not see anything that was behind me. The convertible top and top boot are to high when it is down. That should have been addressed by DC during the design in my opinion.
So my review is in. If DC gets nostalgic and builds a revamped Gen1 body on a Gen3 chassis...........sign me up. Otherwise, there aint no way I will buy an SRT10. (but man it handles like a dream!)

The originals are the purdiest no doubt, but you posers can deny the SRT/10 all you want. I'm moving to the new coupe first chance I get...or a CC. :)

He's talking about the looks and the style. How does taking it for a spin change your mind about that? You are suggesting the performance makes up for the looks and styling. And that's exactly what the original poster stated. I have sat in one and driven one, and I agree with that exactly!

Take a spin? That would be a first for me. I've never sat in a Viper, let alone rode in one. Hell I've NEVER HEARD IT'S ENGINE other than in video games and I know that is the wrong sound!!!! Damn I'm a fool. I probably shouldn't even be on this board. I really don't know what I'm taking about unless it's about looks of the car or if some posts pics or something. Forget anything I say. :p :D

700hp and a 3.73?
What's that all about?
That is what I said! But it works pretty well. You do a lot of shifting but man the car launches like you wouldn't believe. I listed my car for sale but I think I am going to keep it and if I do, I am buying new rear end gears and a blower. (keeping the nitrous as well) This car was a blast to drive.
