Hey out there!!! After reading many posts on this website I decided to go out and purchase my first Viper!!

I was not disappointed. This is one completley awesome vehicle (was considering Porsche GT3, Carrera Convertible, and Mercedes 500SL). I definetly made the right decision (especially since this is an extra car for fun and not a daily driver).

After lots of consideration I decided to purchase a 2004 Silver SRT-10 (will post picture soon).

Anyway, to my original question... Is anyone familiar with the ****** Passport SRX Hidden version of the radar? I already own a Valentine-1 and use it but want a radar that I can leave installed while my top is down and it's parked in VIP section of Valet in front of the casinos I frequent (yes, I live in Vegas Baby). Has anyone ever tried to install this into a Viper?

I found the followin interesting reading...

Radar Test

Haven't got a ticket yet, but then I still have under 100 miles...

Thanks Mike. I found that while there's no perfect radar out there, I wanted the best available that can be concealed. Now it's just a matter of finding another Viper Owner who has the SRX concealed version to see how they installed it...

I have the SR7 (lazer and radar) in my Viper, and the 8500 in my other two cars. Both are excellent -- good results for me based on what the cops use here. If I did it again, not enough lazer used in my state to justify the laser (check the stats on your state -- worth the research, and the info is out there). I mounted the SR7 just above guages -- very tight...looks like it belongs...and when the roof is down and the radio is up high, the lights are right in view. I like the install of the SR7, but for the price, can't beat a good install of the 8500. All of mine were installed at car toys -- excellent work.

I've been thinking about installing a remote detector in my SRT and other cars...if you can post some pictures so I (and others, of course) can see how it looks once it is installed, it would be a big help. Thanks.

Sorry, I am in Texas and my car is in Denver. If you are really interested, send me an e-mail and I will send when I get back and get the cover off my car on a nice day.

Thanks for the replies. Just got back from vacation (disconnected myself for a little while to get some R&R).

I am suppose to receive my SRX this week and will figure out if I'm going to try and have it installed in my SRT or put in my Avalanche and have my V1 hard wired. If I hard wire my V1, I would probably have it pulled through the same area as the rearview mirror and just leave the suction cups on the window. I could remove it pretty easily and through it into the glove if necessary... still thinking about the best approach...
