For those that care the mark before 250 is about 210-215, the tick to the far right of 190 but within the 3 tick range is 200.

From factory viper run from 200-230 or so depending on outside temp, and what your car is doing at the time. And it is perfectly normal for the temp to be around 215.

As soon as my Viper gets a hair over the 200tick my fans kick on and she goes back to ~185.

I have never seen the 210-215 tick(the one just before 250) A Viper owner was recently telling me that his was running up there. I told him that he must have air in the system or an empty reservoir in the facia. Am i wrong? Is it normal for some Vipers to run this hot???

nice pic Dave:2tu:

You are wrong.

Every viper runs hot like this and its intended to do so. Your either living in cold weather, or your guage is showing wrong.

Just to clarify, we are talking 95-120 weather here...

on the picture, the oil pressure show about 60psi and the car not moving/idling ( look at the speedo) so either this car has way more oil pressure than other or the engine was cold.

My oil pressure is around 60 at idle with the car being hot, I did notice on some vipers its 40, my bet is the factory guages.

I'm in the DFW area and my oil pressure runs around 40 at idle (warmed up) & with all the recent 100+ degree weather the the temp gauge runs between 190 & 215.

I was out the very next day with 100+ weather, a/c on and I was nearly at the next tick mark. I assume that is the 215-ish range.

I did notice a service bulletin put out by Dodge regarding a fan reprogram that could be done at the customer's request. Would that have something to do with having the fan come on sooner to keep the temps down?
