Many of you know, I formed and ran the Justin Bell Viper Driving School for a number of years with Justin. With Justin's change in driving last year to Corvette from Viper and his then obligations to GM, it was necessary to change to GM product i.e. Corvettes for the school. Justin as a minority partner, approached me on the possibility of buying my majority interest out in the school. I have since negotiated this, and have no association any longer with the school. I have sold the majority of our school cars, including our Vipers, which I owned. Both my wife Elizabeth (Libby) and I still own 3 Vipers personally, one which I intend to race this year in Skip Thomas's VRL/Viper Days Series in GT1. We both look forward to enjoying our Vipers at VCA activities and Skips Viper Days events. I am no longer involved with the school and there is no longer a Viper Driving School. All school cars are now either Corvettes or Camaros.

I for one wish to extend my sincerest best wishes to Justin and the GT Driving school or whatever it is called now. I attended the three day course last May and was completely satisfied with the experience and particulary the high quality of the instructors. This was not BS group but a seasoned team of experienced racing veterens who exhibited a high degree of professionalism and most importantly patience with all of us neophytes. The particular type of sportscar that is used for the instruction is really immaterial primarily because the each of the instructors has an extended history in using the Viper on the track and knows the nuances of our favorite vehicles. The reality is the race prepped Viper models we practiced in are clearly not the same as our street models anyway. Its the fundementals of driving our special car at high speeds and/or in racing conditions that must be learned. Justins course excells in the teaching of the fundementals which will carry over regardless of your "ride".
On another note, I also wish to thank Gary Lashinsky for making the original school possible. I met Gary last year at Daytona and then again at the school. Our Viper nation could not be better served by having Gary and indeed his entire family as ambassadors for VCA and we Viper owners. Gary I thank you for all of your efforts to welcome myself into the Viper experience and it is only getting better every day. I hope to see you This weeklend at Daytona and meet even more of the Florida Viper Club. \

John, you should call for Justin himself at 1-877-468-3666 or talk with Ken Fengler. When Justin bought my interest out in the school he assumed this liability due to his switching to Corvettes from Vipers.

Ok..for those of us on the verge of buying our Vipers, what schools ARE available? I had always planned to make "Viper Training" part of my cost of ownership. There ARE other schools that still use Vipers, right? I sure hope so.

If you are looking for a Viper Driving school look no further than Viper Days. Go to their web-site and find out when they will be in your neck of the woods You will get up to three days of training, in your own Viper, by a great group of instructors. Even if your a bad student, the event itself is still a great time.

As former owner of the Justin Bell Viper Driving School, I highly recomend Skip Thomas's Viper Days. The Viper School is no longer operation. For those who want to experience the road course in a Viper, Skip offers a quality event for a resonable price. I for one look forward to participating in Skips Viper Days and suggest to all Viper owners they do also.
