Hello, Recently came out to the garage to vacuum the left side carpet and my gas pedal is laying on the floor along with the pin and its spring. Imagine my surprise. The pin is pressed into the end of the gas pedal assembly. If the pin is on the floor there's a possibility the fit has changed with constant foot pressure on that area. This fix will only work if the integrity of that fit is still good. So take the pin and lightly ruff up the tip of the shaft with a Dremel tool to give the star washer more purchase. The pin is hardened and is too smooth hence the ruff up. No threading the tip for a jamnut for same reason. Press it all back into the pedal assy and use some red Loctite for insurance. That's where the star washer comes in. Press it on to the tip after assembly. Check the pix for reference. Good luck. Mine is a 2002 RT10.
