Hello

I just want to ask how much oil your cars Need ???

I needed 4 Liters for 9000 km , thats about 1 Gallon on 5600 Miles
I think thats a lot :crazy2:

But there is no Oil araund the headGasket or in the coolant

Iam using the Original SRT10 Oil

What could be the Problem ???

Mike, it seems a lot of oil getting burned, if not leaking out of the engine. Do you see any blue smoke out of the exhaust or do you smell any oil? I suspect not, otherwise you should have mentioned it. Is your oil too thin? What viscosity is your oil brand?

It would be a good idea to do a compression test to see the state of the piston rings.

I have a 1996 RT10 and the oil consumption is negligible. I use Shell 15-40 Synthetic oil.

could be bad valve guides? let it sit and idle for about 15 minutes, then give it a few revs and see if alot of blue smokes rolls out of exhaust, usually on a bad ring, it will foul the spark plug

I change the Oil every 2 Years , about every 6500 Miles .
I use the Original Mobile 0W40 Oil for Srt/10
Car is a 94

Problem is i cant start the car at this time because the intake manifold is off the car, but that is the first thing i try when the car is back togehter
Only thing i realize when i drive the car in summer is , that i smell sometimes some burning oil.

Btw car is not stock , it has about 512HP

Thanks for the help so far

HP should not matter for oil consumption. might want to try a much heavier oil and see what happens

Passenger Side / Driver Side

55 PSi 100 PSI

85 PSI 65 PSI

50 PSI 50 PSI

80 PSI 70 PSI

125 PSI 55 PSI

I think there is something wrong
Did the test with cold Motor and the Intake off

do a cold test with intake on and when you test each cylinder, hold the throttle wide open for accurate reading

I burned about a quart every 175 miles in my 2000 Gen 2, turns out it was the cylinder wall issue and I had to send it to Arrow for 9 weeks for a complete rebuild.

Made a second Compression test Today
Put the intake back on and let the Motor idle for about 20 minutes yesterday.
There was no blue smoke from the exhaust , and the spark plugs look good.

The Results where :

Passenger Side / Driver Side

140 PSi 135 PSI

135 PSI 140 PSI

135 PSI 140 PSI

135 PSI 135 PSI

135 PSI 135 PSI

I think this result is much Better :D

I think there was something wrong at the first test
Maybe it was too cold ( we have -11 grad here in Austria)
