These two folks are great examples of VCA members / Viper Owners. I jumped on their offer and am looking forward to receiving the benefit of their largess. I've adopted their kid pic idea, however I would also like to use the snake to raise money for some charities I'm involved with (selling photo ops/ rides?).

I remember some posts a few days ago where everyone was defending their support of the younger set, and some said they had used their Viper to raise money for various causes. Although this is changing the thread of this post, I would love to hear some creative ideas on how to share the snake and bring joy to others while raising money for worthwhile causes. I particularly remember one of my BB idols, Mr. JonB stating that he had raised megabucks over the years to help others.

Don,

Our NJ region has succesfully raised thousands of dollars in just an hour or two.

Here's a suggestions:

1) Call your Regional President, and let him know you'd like to coordinate an event.

2) Talk to a local merchant to host a Charity Car Show (obviously a car dealer would be receptive to the idea, but also restaurants (ie: *******, McDonalds, etc) love it as well. Try to ask for more than just parking lot space (in other words, trophies, goodies, free food, etc)

3) Make sure you leave yourself about 2 months to market the date.

4) We usually charge $15.00 per entry (and we don't limit it to Vipers), additionally we hold a raffle (you can get a roll of raffle tickets from staples or office-max).

5) Last, but not least, additionally you can have a Viper memorabilia auction (open to all...but obviously the highest bidders are usually our Viper Crazy members), purchase some neat Viper models, T-shirts, goodies (JR Thompson is usually a big help with this) and auction them off. What a fun frenzy results! (Auctioneer should constantly remind everyone that it's for charity). We've had Viper Coffee Mugs hit a high bid of over $50!...and yes, I even auctioned "the shirt off my back" (admitted, it was a great VOI button down shirt) for a crazy $125!

Final Result?
Here's and example
50 cars @ $15 = $750
Raffle tix = $200 - $300
Auction = $500 - $1000
Expense = ? (If tropies are supplied by the Host, the only expense is the auction goodies, many can be donated by members)

That's just an example of one of our events...please feel free to call me at 732-531-4600 if you'd like some more ideas

Hey Layne and Liem, I received your email when I got up this am at 4:30 central and replied immediately, however I have cable modem and the mail server has been down for almost 24 hours now! I thought I would post to make sure your questions were answered. I am an owner, have a '00 steel gray GTS (no stripes). I will private message my address since I don't know when the mail server will resurrect.

Well, Darn!!! I can't send a private message right now either since it goes through my mail server. The cable modem is great (and very fast) but this is irritating!!
