It has been recommended many times here to use GM Weatherstrip Lubricant for our trim to prevent cracking. I went to Chevrolet dealer and we looked up the product in their online catalogue. It was $50. It looks like a small white bottle you hold upside down and it has an applicator on top. Only something like 3 ounces. C'mon. $50?

I have the part number in my car if I need to go get it.

Craig,

How is it supposed to work? I've always been told that cleanliness was the best way to keep weatherstripping alive. Is this a lubricant or preservative?

Been using the GM stuff for years. A little goes a loooooong way.
I guess that GM figured out that owners of ALL makes are using their stuff along with folks with classics and restorations, so they added a ___________(fill in your favorite car make here) TAX
