The winds here in Eastern Carolina are gusting between 40 and 50 MPH. Since it was about 65 degrees, I decided to take the snake out for a little "leg stretching". The winds were blowing me all over the road and there were several tree branches down, so I cut short the drive. When I was turning in the driveway, I saw several shingles about to blow off the roof. After parking the Viper in the Garage, I got out my 12 foot extension ladder and climbed onto the roof to try and save the shingles. All of a sudden there was a huge bang and I look back, NO LADDER!! The wind blew it off the front of the house. Now try and imagine the progression of the following thought processes. How do I get down?, why were there TWO bangs?, and why don't I see the ladder OUTSIDE of the garage?! Luckily, my wife heard all the noise and came outside, assuming I was dead. After her initial disappointment at seeing me up on the roof and realizing the house and the Viper were NOT going to be paid off by my life insurance, she put the ladder back up. After I climbed down, afraid to look in the garage, I realized the second bang was the ladder bouncing off my truck, into the garage, and laying BESIDE the Viper! Whew!
