Another newbie question, I just picked up my viper gts this weekend. The owner was out of town and I picked it up form the house sitter. I do not have the owners manual and need to know who to open the hatch where is the release button?

thanks in advance

Unless it is MY 97....with the cool SnakeOyl hatch release....then you just reach into the little glove box and push the button! :)

The '97 does not have an interior release. Use the key in the lock to the right of the license plate.

Yeah...I wish I had done that mod then I would not have to walk to the back of the car to put stuff in the hatch area or take it back out.

DD...I very recently added this kit. Same time I had the seats out to instal the rollbar. Found the kit used, install was dead easy.......if The Wizard could let me thumb through a parts kit I am almost positive it is simple "parts bin" material. Really....it is a solenoid operated plunger with a push button and a replacement assembly from the key-lock portion to the latch. :)

There are a lot of universal kits you can get for remote trunk release. I put one in mine and it works great. They're really cheap just look on ebay.

There's a release button in my glove box on my 96. Did it come from the factory that way or did the previous owner install it? Or was the 97 the ONLY year not to have one?

I would not call the removal of the fog/driving light covers an improvement unless you're talking about DC's profit margin as the glass lens on the lights is no longer protected and the aero drag on the car is increased. :smirk:
