If memory serves me, there is a little slot on the longer part of the knob...and there is a metal clip that you need to move away from the actual switch shaft itself. Long story-short...just use a small pick to get under the clip in the slot of the knob, then pull the knob off.

I just removed the dash from my 93 and it is simple. If they are identical, remove the knee board, and reach under towards where the components of the light switch. From behind the console, you will feel a little round bump on top of the switch housing. Press that in and jiggle the switch around until it comes out. Now your lights may remain on, so push that same light pin in a bit to turn the lights off, but not to replace the pin again. If this is it, write a reply....

Wayne...are you speaking of the dash? If you are, the easiest way to remove that paint is for you to get a wire brush, time, and a couple of bottles of nail polish remover (acetone). Let it soak for a min, then brush away. It took me 3 days to do everything. And for the finishing touches, i had the dash (and door bezzels and covers) painted satin black, then, the coolest....I got a carbon fiber dash kit! It looks spectacular! Ask Gerald.....he has seen my car, and it looks awesome. If you are interested, e-mail me and i'll give you the phone # and who to contact.
