Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a 93 RT/10. I am having problems with the hood not closing properly. On the left front side, where the latch is the hood doesn't seem to sit in its place. It sticks up a little bit. And the other day when I was driving the hood unlatched and came up. Please, help with any suggestions. I really appreciate your help. Also, the car has the Venom 500 package, I have been trying to get in touch with John Hennessey but he won't e-mail or call me back. I wanted to know it I could use Royal Purple and what weight should I use.

thanks
Asif

You say the hood sticks up on the side where it pops open. here is what I would try ti fix it. I am assumimg the headlight and hood are NOT in contact when hood is closed. If the are in contact, the H/L is too high.

1) There is a round rubber stop, about 1.5" in dia. inboard of each latch. This bumber-stop is threaded. Simply turn it DOWN 1/4 of a turn,,,,,,,,,then another 1/4th...til the hood latches properly. If you have to lower it more than 3-4 full turns, then the LATCH needs to be adjusted.

Hint: Use a drop of oil or lexol or ? on the bumper before you begin, to ensure the hood is touching the stop..the stop will leave a "wet spot"

2) To adjust the latch, I belive a 10mm wrench is needed. First, mark the latch position w a marker/pencil/crayon or WHITE-OUT. Carefully loosen the latch upper bolt about 50%. Noot loose! Just so you can pry-move it easily. Raise or lower it as needed to grab the hasp on the hood. Tighten it down.

You asked about Royal Purple.......a few-few-folks use it. The factory fill, and most of us, use Mobil-1 or Venom Oils.
