High idle after hitting rev limiter?

Went to the track last night and after my problem started what seems after hitting the rev limiter. It now will idle around 2,000-2,500 when you let off the gas. Drive and runs fine. If you turn it off for a few minutes, it will idle fine until you drive it. The funny part is that sometimes if you push the clutch in while it is doing it, it will come down to 1,000, then go back up? What can I check for starters? Thanks

Disconnect the battery connection and let it sit for 10 min... then start it up again. it is weird that this would happen (is actually indicative of a battery-type problem) but a computer reset couldn't hurt.
