I know that when you run a Twin-Turbo set up the likelyhood of engine Knock increases significantly due to the air being pumped into the cylinders under pressure by the turbocharger, and then being further compressed by the piston . From what I've gathered the Knocking happens because as you compress air, the temperature of the air increases and The temperature may increase enough to ignite the fuel before the spark plug fires.

I ran my Blown C5 at 12PSI boost with minimal to no knock , would this be a safe amount of pressure to run my Viper on 91 Oct ( Providing we didn't pull to much timing out )??

Thanks !

The amount of boost you can run with 91 Octane gas will vary depending on the compression ratio of the engine and running compression (camshaft spec related). On a stock engine (Gen 2
1996-1999) 10 psi will work with proper fuel and timing.

I do not like going over 620rwhp on the stock lower end.
At 10psi with a decent tune it should make more than that.

The correct answer is what your TT tuner suggests. The answer is different for each application.

I've run 18psi on 91 octane with no problems but timing was 24 degrees at that boost, and then only because I ran water injection and other tricks - otherwise it would have been 18 degrees max.

TT will have less heat per psi than a sc, but the timing tables will be completely different as the boost will come in so much quicker, therefore timing at mid range rpms will need more careful attention than a sc car would.

Every tuner does there own thing and there are many ways to suppress detonation - I'm not going to burst anyones bubble by a kiss and tell here - that's why i suggest talking to the tuner. Taking third party advice on this topic would be extremely unwise.
