when changing water pump?

changed waterpump due to impellar failure.
pump change resolved gauge ******* at 250 and related issues but now car is running very hot, way to hot for outside temps. fans come on and everything seems normal other than high temp.
goes as high as 3/4 hash mark(225 ?) fans kick on temps come down but not down to where i would expect. it acts like it did before pump failure it just runs way to hot.
doesn't matter if I am sitting in traffic or hammering it.

followed burping procedure 3 times but i still get air coming out when squeezing hose.
i did 3- 20 minutes sessions when burping over the course of the last 3 days.

how do you know when burping is completed?
am i missing something
any tricks or hints that aren't in the procedure
thanks
for the help

Sending unit?

Can we assume the coolant overflow bottle in the fascia is being properly maintained? As air is removed are you adding coolant to maintain the level?

Also, check the hose connections at the pressure tank going to the overflow. If they are loose they can **** air as the system cools. I have clamps on mine.

I replaced my entire cooling system a year or so ago and then a follow up when I discovered my brand new Ron Davis radiator had a hole in it (2001 GTS) and NEVER burped the system. Car works fine.

Not that you should act like Dave does but here is another check if maybe it was just luck I've been having. When squeezing the hose it should feel firm like there's fluid in there. If not, then that is air. You might try the Roe hoses with the bleeder. I have them but have not used the bleed port to get air out.

Thanks dave,
I must still have air in the lines because hose doesn't seem that firm.
I am adding fluid as air is purged but it is not taking much fluid in.

after draining everything I filled overflow in fascia to 1/2 between hash marks and it has not moved very much, maybe slightly higher than when I first filled it.

how long should it take to burp air out of the system.
I assume you are done when no more bubbles appear.
thanks

It sounds like you have maybe a bad radiator cap or a leak in the line going to the fascia bottle. Those will let you **** in air upon system cooling if they are defective.

Tell the ******'s ******* the far right to run to the front of the car and pop the hood while ******'s girl #2 bends over and checks your fill cap!
