i am so INCREDIBLY fortunate

i would like to share a great viper story with all of you.

tonight jdoc (jeff leeho) and myself got together for dinner. we had invited a few other viper guys, but they never made it. so the two of us had dinner, we talked vipers of course, and all was great.

as we were finishing dinner and getting ready to call it a night, jeff got a call from one of our viper friends, who wanted to meet us at the restaurant. so we got up and met him (don) in the parking lot. don decides to drive his 500hp evo over to see us.

so there we were talking in the parking lot, and don asks if we want to go to his place to see his 2002 supercharged FE. duh. SURE! don gave the keys to his 500hp evo to jeff, and off we went!

when we got to dons house, don wanted to go for a drive, and gave us our choice of cars to take out for a spin. i chose to drive dons supercharged 2002 FE, and jeff took dons supercharged Z06. and off we went!

we followed don in his evo for 45 mins or so, then switched cars and drove some more.

i could not believe it. i always had hoped that one day i would own a viper, and that dream did come true. but there i was driving down the highway in a supercharged Z06 with two viper friends of mine suddenly feeling extremely, EXTREMELY fortunate. never in my wildest dreams did i ever think buying a viper would lead to such incredible people, and rare experiences.

Yes, it was incredibly fun! Boy, was that EVO blisteringly fast! He was reeling me in on the highway. Never driven a blown Z06 before and I have a new respect for these cars. I'm almost tempted to hop into a 2002 for $30K and have a blast vs. getting a GenI, just can't make up my mind what I want. Oh well, it's a nice decision to have to make.

JK! Thats a great story, Evo's, Vettes, and VIPERS all run like scalded apes! Especially when they all have a little BOOST Congratulations! How fast did ya'll get up to?

i know, i know. but the last vette i drove was a 1970 stingray that i had while in the navy. i have never driven a newer vette, esp a Z06, esp a BLOWN Z06. i am secure enough in my viperhood to admit that, IT WAS NICE.

the Z06 had a procharger which looked alot like a paxton or a vortech. the viper had a roe and i think was around 650 hp. i forget the exact HP rating on either car. jeff, do you remember?

don likes to go FAST. side note - don is also having a 1200 hp TT supra being built in chicago somewhere, which should be done sometime in august.
