I dyno\'d both Vipers yesterday,(95 RT-10, 97 GTS)

The 95 did 483.9 torque 403.7 HP on motor , and 610.7 torque,521.5 HP W/NOS The 97 GTS 485.2 torque,445.3 HP,(basically stock) What do you guys think? I have lots of pictures from the Dyno day at Maxwell Dodge here in Austin , but they are difficult to post on this site.

no cats,Dynomax,Roe tubes and hoses,K&N's,Alum.flywheel,kevlar clutch,B&M ripper,MGW,mopar perf. computer

Doesn't quite sound like "basically stock" to me. Results still very impressive. Just had to chide the "basically stock" statement as that is what the Vette guys say when they are running cool air intakes and slicks and indicating their "stock" Vette hangs with Vipers.

Basically these are small little mods," no cats,Dynomax mufflers,Roe tubes and hoses,K&N's,Alum.flywheel, kevlar clutch,B&M ripper,MGW,mopar perf. computer".Not alot of HP to found with what I have done so far , but I have T&D 1.7's waiting to install and am getting headers and a blower, now those are some power adders.

483.9 torque 403.7 HP on motor , and 610.7 torque,521.5 HP W/NOS The 97 GTS 485.2 torque,445.3 HP

I'm confused, how do you come up with these numbers? I have chasis dynoed my 68 Cuda with a 416 small block many times and it makes more power than any stock viper engine and runs 11.29 in 90 heat with small tube headers and full exhaust. Are you telling me those are rwhp numbers or are you converting the rwhp number to a flywheel number? and if so what factors are you using? Also what is the actual rwhp number. If those are rwhp numbers, that's impressive.

I assume you were on a Dynojet? I did mine on a Mustang Dyno (aka, piece of crap!) and had to plead with them to give me the numbers it measured rather than what their formula's changed them too. So it's not apples to apples, but my numbers on NOS on my '94 with exhaust mods were 643 torque and 526 HP at 4300 rpm. So it's pretty close to what you got. I probably got a little extra from the other mods I have. But frankly I was disappointed so I started playing around with NOS bottle heating. The dyno numbers I had above were at 875 psi but now I run at closer to 1100 (38 degree Celsius thermo), which I think makes a big difference. So when I get a chance to dyno with the higher pressure I'll post the results.

Yea! , my bottle was only at 875-890 , I did not have enough time to heat it up , I like to run it around 1200 and full. I wonder how much more I would get on the dyno?

My 1993 gen 1 got 416 rwhp, 481 torque on the dynojet. It has tubes, vec1, svsi
headers, borla catback, roe cats, aluminum flywheel. The car is currently
undergoing head work, t&d's, crower cam & extrude honed intake. I'll post
numbers when the work is done.

My were pretty high, with a few add ons......... see below
Nice!! , my 95 has 41,000 miles . I think they run better with a few miles on them, (my 97 has 40,000).

416 is good!! keep going . Do you have Kumho's? they kick butt out of the hole, I have spanked many much higher HP cars with the holeshot!

That's an interesting question, why don't you start a new thread asking that and see what numbers come back and what they did to get them.

Re: I dyno\'d both Vipers yesterday,(95 RT-10, 97 GTS)

NIce Numbers and Interesting post seeing Nitrous dyno numbers on other gen I's.

One thing I noticed is that bottle pressure is very important for horsepower and torque gains. I dynoed my 95 with tubes and cat backs and a 200 shot and made 533 RWHP and 801 RWTQ on my best run. That was with 1050 PSI bottle pressure, I dynoed just before that run with 900 PSI and only made 516 RWHP and 600 RWTQ.

As for the fastest Gen I's in the country, I would say probably one of Doug Levins Super Charged monsters for Viperous Optimus or Gear Grabin Gary's Green one ( I think thats is who posted crazy dynoe numbers on their Gen I's). Very close or at 800 RWHP if I remember correctly.

I agree would be an interesting thread to see the fast Gen I's out there.

Re: I dyno\'d both Vipers yesterday,(95 RT-10, 97 GTS)

Hey Ed, thanks for posting your different numbers for different bottle pressures. That is exactly what I was looking for. So far I have only had seat of the pants dyno since I up'd the pressure.

My 526/643 Hp/Torq is close to your 516/600 at 900 psi. So now that I am running 1100 psi I am hoping to be up to your monster 800+ torque numbers. Interesting though that peak horsepower doesn't jump as much as peak torque does with NOS.
