interesting air filter test

As far as I can tell, we have 3 primary filter choices:

OEM
K&N / S&B
Fram

OEM appears to be quite restrictive and costs HP on the dyno, about 10 on my car.

K&N clearly is less restrictive but according to the test (and logic) passes significant dirt. Oil analysis backs this up as you'll typically see higher silicon levels running K&N. In my case, 17ppm vs. 7ppm.

Fram, though not my choice for oil filters, appears to have a nice compromise, a thinner foam pre-filter than stock but still a treated paper element.

Next dyno day I'll compare the Fram and K&N HP numbers.
