Hello all, this is an introduction thread :)
I'm a new member, who's just joined the forum and am interested/in the market for a Gen2 Viper GTS. Currently own three different drivers' platform cars:

-A heavily modified Miata (my first car bought new over 35 years ago), is my front engine car
-A Lotus Exige is my mid-engine car
-A Porsche 993 is my rear engine car

I've placed a self-limitation on my curated collection to three cars over the years, with a rule that if I want something new, something else has to go first. I've had a larger collection before but didn't find it rewarding as I didn't have the time & love I'd want to dedicate to each car with a larger collection.

After 35 years of ownership and tinkering, I'm finally considering a replacement for my Miata. The Miata, over time, has become more and more of a hassle to keep on the road--not for mechanical reasons, but for legal reasons. The biannual smog cert process in CA can be brutal for pre-ODBII cars, especially modded ones, and over time I've found I'd taken my Miata as far as I could take it within the CA limitations. I needed something more out of the front engined example in my small collection.

So, as a result, I'm considering a Gen2 Viper GTS (or GTS ACR) as the Miata's replacement. I've always loved the Gen2 GTS from afar but had always considered them financially out of my reach, until somewhat recently. Been starting the process of more deeply researching the Gen2 GTS's, learning the differences for each model year, things to look for, etc. I sat in one once back in the late 90's but need to do a true seat "fitting" to see what challenges (if any) I'd have with GTS seating. I don't expect too much challenge there, as I already fit in my other, smaller cars, but it's nice to be sure.

Other than that, I'm basically casually "looking" for the right GTS for me--a drivers car, well maintained, great condition, clean/no accident history, little to no mods (must pass CA smog). Mileage is not as important as condition. More interested in brighter colors (blue/red/yellow), ideally with the stripe package. My budget is commensurate with the car.

UPDATE: I'm in preliminary stages of purchasing Alex's '01 GTS, pending PPI results.
UPDATE 2: Great PPI results, am now working on purchasing Alex's '01 GTS. Looking forward to being a part of the Viper community :)

I have probably the nicest 2000 Dodge Viper GTS ACR in the country (world) that I just bought but the wrong car for me. It was personally owned/built by one of the top Viper experts in the country. The mechanicals on this are crazy and built with ONLY the best parts. The former owner was a very well-known Viper expert. It can be a DD or as a Collector as it is truly exceptional with 16K miles.

It was already built, so I simply added several aesthetic things that make it one of the best looking/performing Vipers in the country (IMO) but can be removed. Also make it more updated looking. It’s super cool. PERFECT condition!

It’s a beautiful pearl gray with black stripes and I added red thinner stripes over them with other red exterior/interior accents. Just had a full professional ceramic coated and could find no flaws exterior/interior. It’s gorgeous!

I can send pics when I go over where it is stored. I’ve got a lot in this car, but it’s worth it. Never intended to sell, just got too many.

I’m new here so please PM me if interested.

This is an exceptional Gen 2 Viper ACR. It's stunning and built RIGHT by a Viper expert.

I can send pics with updates and extensive background on the car to anyone that is interested.

If interested, please PM me.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I've now completed the purchase and have a 2001 Viper in my garage.
