June 21st Vancouver Island South – Victoria BC: Confirmed

June 21st Friday; The Viper Nation is returning to the Island again this year; accommodation at the Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel and Marina; www.coasthotels.com; meet and greet at a downtown restaurant location to be determined; we can return to www.milestonesrestaurants.com within walking distance or an alternate, lots to choose from downtown. Please note: accommodation at the Coast has been confirmed, when making the reservation please identify the Viper Club block; Group Code CVH-GFC5460; we have negotiated a discount rate of $ 149.00 for the Superior Harbourview Queen rooms, it also includes free secure underground parking for the weekend.
June 22nd Saturday; Day long Viper cruise, depart hotel at 09:30 head north to Highway 14, continue west to Sooke, then further west along the west coast trail route to Port Renfrew stopping for lunch at the Coastal Kitchen Cafe, great chowder for sea food lovers; after a relaxing lunch, the Vipers continue inland north east to Lake Cowichan, an old logging community in the Cowichan Valley, brief stop for photos then continue back east to Duncan via the Cowichan Valley Highway 18. Tentative stop for a tour of the forest museum; check out www.bcforestmuseum.com; continue south to the coastal village of Cowichan Bay for a mid afternoon ice cream break, continue south thru Shawnigan Lake back roads, end our day back in Victoria staying again at the Coast Hotel. Casual dinner at a local pub in Esquimalt, http://www.spinnakers.com or alternate.
June 23rd Sunday; a couple suggestions for the day, non Viper related, visit the Royal Victoria Museum, within walking distance from the hotel; check out; http://www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca or travel towards Sidney on the back roads to visit the world renowned attraction; http://www.butchartgardens.com, members stay in the area or depart for home; member may want to check out another Island jewel; the Brentwood Bay Resort and Spa; www.brentwoodbayresort.com; a very highly rated world class facility indeed.

    Cheers,

    Jim
