Todd,
The next SRA event is on July 22. I am going to try to go.
I went this last Sunday with my Z06 and it was a ton of fun.
My Viper isn't broken in yet so I probably wouldn't take it to the track yet. I be all for a ******* get together or something like that.

Ulysses, I had never gone before this last weekend so I'm just as much of a novice. You would love it I'm sure. There were a few Vipers there. SoCal Rebel was there running low 12's. The biggest
problem besides the dirt road to get to the track

was getting
traction. The Vipers were spinning the tires pretty bad in the
heat of the day. We should get together for sure though.

Regards,
Steve

Let me know when you guys are going to Carlsbad, I'll go again. I have the aluminum flywheel and love it, and I'm a 1/4 mile guy. Yeah, I was at Carlsbad last Sunday and it was SLIPPERY, 1.99 was my best 60 ft. and 12.23 @ 118.5 was my best 1/4. Spun all through first and halfway through second. If you guys are interested in some real drag racing on a good track (Famoso) with unlimited runs (50 runs if you want) some of us are renting Famoso in Bakersfield for the day, there will only be about 40 cars running ALL DAY, all Vettes and Vipers this is on 8/18 (a Saturday), e-mail me if interested!

Went to Carlsbad Raceway on June 10, Sunday. 4 Vipers there, I saw SoCal Rebel and nutsRT running. I couldn't run without the top on. Even the soft top is OK! Plan to go next time,July 22. It's a kick to just watch. Some dragsters, funny cars, and family cars. Tons of Vettes.

Steve,
Yes, red RT/10 in the parking area. Not sure if I saw your car, maybe in the pit area, close to Perry's black RT/10? Perhaps next time. I'm going to throw on the soft-top and give it a try. Look like great fun.

Greg,

I missed Sunday at the drags but I was auto-crossing at the Q. FYI, don't know if you will be able to run at Carlsbad with the soft top. Last time I tried they kicked me off the track. I have been told at a couple of tracks if you are under 13.9 you can't run without a hard top. I finally ordered one from Biff at v-mania. I hope to have it before Monterey.

SoCal,

I was planning on being in Bakersfield the weekend of 8/18 for a waterski tournement anyway. I would be up for letting you kick my tail on the track. Details please.

But doesn't the car pull much stronger in 1st?

I have a 00 GTS and it feels like there is a lot of rotating mass to spin up when acceling in 1st.

I would think that 1st would be a lot more impressive with a light flywheel.

I just had an aluminum flywheel installed a few weeks ago that I purchased from Roe Racing. I have no regrets about having it installed. The car feels faster, especially when starting from a roll. I have never taken the car to the drag strip, but comparing the times from my G-Tech Pro before and after the install it is a little faster in 0-60 and the 1/4 mile. I was racing around today and got my best times ever. I am going to the drag strip for the first time Thursday night to see just how fast this baby is.
