I really like the newer design...but have never seen one in operation.

How does it open? I like the fact that it does not have a the standard type lever as everyone has to play with it.

So again...how do the MGW ones open?

the base of the cap has a stainless steel spring loaded pin that you push down to release an internal latch. it is a good design because not only do people not really get how to open it at first glance so they do not dick with it but also there are no parts rubbing on the chrome part of the cap. that is the one thing i do not like about chroming the oem cap. it still gets messed up with the roller scratching it up.

Hey George how 'bout us Gen1 owners? Anything on the horizon for us?

i have looked into the rt10 many times and i just cannot come up with a design that would flow well. the cap is mounted flush on the roadster unlike the gts. making a cap to be flush would have to bew a casting which we do not do. maybe autoform can make one like they did with the srt10.

Thanks George...exactly what I was thinkin' about people futzing with mine. Gas cap that is.

I suppose I could go back to stock if desired one day too. Yeah, old car habits die hard..I keep every old stock part in the event that 30 years from now I'd want to put it back to stock.
