I just got a set of K&N's and smooth tubes. After reading around I have found that there is a rain baffold and the factory airbox can be modified for more power. I do not want to cut the back and add 3" tubing by the way....Here are a few questions:

What can be done to the stock air box?

Any one have any pics of this mod?

Is it a do it yourself project?

What HP increase might one expect.

I have done things to my prevous air boxes (Z06, 350Z) and if there is anything I can do to help my 93, I would like to do so.

I don't remember the baffle-if any on my '94 (same as your '93) but the front half of your airbox isn't the same as most of the posts relating to cutting out the rain baffle-that's for Gen2s..

Cutting out the rain baffle does nothing other than marginally increase your risk of hydrolock.

Statement based on dyno testing stock, debaffled and none. Zero change.
